When to Write and Send Christmas Cards?

Christmas cards are probably an indistinguishable part of Christmas celebrations. When you get these Christmas cards on time, you really enjoy them. This should also be a case with people who would receive your Christmas Cards. When your friends and loved ones get your Christmas cards on time, they just love it. So, be a source of happiness for them and follow this schedule to write and send your Christmas Cards!

When To Write Your Christmas Cards?

This will depend upon the number of people who would be receiving your cards. If you will send cards to a large number of people, you must start writing your Christmas cards in the following manner.
  • Buy Christmas cards just after Halloween and finish this buying affair by mid November at the most.
  • Start writing addresses on the card envelops after mid November and finish it off by Thanksgiving day. This is the most strenuous part of writing Christmas cards as you need to consult your address book/ books and this takes time.
  • While you write the addresses on your card envelops, ensure to sort them as you write- based on the relations you have with the people you are sending cards to. For example, make a bunch of cards for people who are very close friends or family whom you would like to convey special messages for Christmas. Make another bunch of cards for friends whom you do not treat as very close and other bunch for acquaintances or business clients etc. with whom you have very formal relations.
  • By Thanksgiving, you are done with address writing. Now start writing messages in the cards. You can start with the bunch of 'not so close friend' where you have to just write the names of the receiver and sign it with a simple message wishing Merry Christmas. Then you can write special Christmas cards for your dear ones with personalized Christmas messages. While doing this, you have now to sort your cards on the basis of distance they have to travel- a bunch for long distance cards, other bunch for cards that have to go abroad and another bunch for local cards.
  • You should complete writing your messages on cards by the end of November, after which you have to send your Christmas cards.

When To Send Your Christmas Cards?

You will have few bunches of cards that you have to send to different locations. The following is the ideal time to send your Christmas cards.
  • Send your overseas Christmas cards in the first week of December otherwise they won't reach there on time.
  • Your Christmas cards for the local friends and relatives could be sent in the second week of December so that they reach them just before Christmas day.
  • In any situation, don't hold back your cards later than 10th December. This is the day by which each and every card should leave your home for their proper destination!
So, get organized in sending your Christmas cards so that you bring a real smile of happiness to everyone's face!
