How Do I Loose Pounds Before Christmas?

If this is the question that your mind is constantly occupied with, here is a diet plan as well as a lifestyle plan (a temporary one though) to be followed till Christmas. If you can follow it after Christmas too, that will be a great Christmas gift to you from yourself! Lets start with the plan for loosing pounds before Christmas!

Boost up Your Metabolism Rate! - Its Simple

Metabolism rate- sounds to be a difficult term but it is relatively simple to boost it up. Without going into the details of what is metabolism rate and how it affects your weight loss plan, I will just mention some pointers that will increase your metabolism rate. Just remember that when your metabolism is proper, what you eat gets converted into energy and not fat.
  • After getting up in the morning, have a glass of warm water with half  lemon juice. You'll have to cut the lemon into half to squeeze its juice out and into the glass of your lukewarm water.
  • Forget bigger meals. Start having smaller meals frequently. But that doesn't mean that you have to take all the fatty and full of carbohydrate foods. These can be fruits, low carb foods and cereals etc. A nexample of such diet plan is given below.
Christmas Diet Plan for Metabolism Boost-up
  • Early morning- on empty stomach- warm water with lime juice.
  • Within half an hour of getting up- A fruit of your choice (avoid fatty ones like mango, grapes, banana) or two arrowroot biscuits with milk or tea (preferably black or green tea).
  • Breakfast- take it within 1-1/2 to 2 hours of getting up. It might include cereals like oats, ragi, wheat flakes or even brown breads. Limit the portion though. If having eggs, take it boiled or poached but not fried.
  • Mid day meal- as you have to make your breakfast portion small to boost your metabolism, you'll have to have a midday meal before lunch- say after about two hours of your breakfast. You can have fruit or fruit juice. If you do not like having sweet items, go for a handful of roasted peanuts. but only handfull.  Avoid biscuits, cakes and the likes.
  • Lunch- Again, limit your portion. As you have taken your midday meal before two or two and a half hours, you won't feel like having heavier lunch. Have more of vegetables- not fried or very spicy and pulses instead of carbohydrates like rice and flour. If having chicken or fish, prefer boiled, steamed over the fried versions.
  • Evening snacks- you can have a fruit and if not then light snacks- something like you have in breakfast in the morning.
  • Dinner- have it latest by 9 PM without fail. As our digestive system gets slower in the night, you would end up storing body fat if having late dinner. Go to bed only after at least two hours after having dinner. If you feel hungry by then, have a glass of milk or a fruit.
Other Lifestyle Habits to Lose Pounds before Christmas!
  • Move your body- at least a little. Walk, cycle, swim or just take stairs. How much exercise you do will decide how many pounds you lose before Christmas. If you want to lose 5 pounds, walking is all you need (but it should be regular daily brisk walk of at least 40 minutes) If you want to lose 15 pounds or more, you must join gym or do yoga apart from following your Christmas diet.
  • As you will be avoiding all the fatty foods and also the junk food these days, you might have temptations – sometimes harder to avoid. So, don't starve yourself of these foods for longer period. Have a small portion of pizza or burger or anything you like –  but only on weekend- or the day you decide- but only once in 7 days. This will also work as motivation for you to follow the strict diet regime throughout the week.
  • Avoid having too much of tea or coffee. Two is the optimum number that you can have during the day. Prefer black or green tea.
  • Sleep enough because you also want to look good on the Christmas day. The good food you'll have till Christmas and the exercises along with good sleep and relaxation will bring glow to your face.
Wish you all the best in your efforts to lose pounds of your choice before Christmas!
